Let this sit on the grill face for about 5 min...lifted it re soaked and let it sit on the next 5-6 "ribs" while I was removing the paint from the previous lay-down spot. Used steal wool exclusively for the scraping and it worked like a champ. I will get pictures up tonight from my girls phone to show the results.

Also got my projector headlights in today with 10k hid conversion kit to be installed with the lights. Looking forward to getting this done this weekend or this week if I have time. Will start a new thread to post results and show my car. They are going to compliment my chrome grill nicely!

10k hid??? How did that workout for u

A little off topic but, are the stick on chrome trunk bars any good?

Just did this to my 400 and I love how it turned out. Just be careful when applying the paint remover and it'll turn out great. I used a paint stripper from oriley's and applied it with a toothpick then wiped it off with a damp rag after it had time to take the paint off.

Took me forever to get the chrome up even using the citrus gel that people recommended. Finally got it though. After taking a good look at it, the dark grey sides/edges looked really dull to me, so I decided to mask off the outer chrome/ribs, hit it with some black and clear it. Anyway, here's the finished product.

Masking (Took FOREVER):

Did mine today and it came out pretty good. I used aircraft stripper for about 4mins then wiped it right off. I removed the lexus emblem and taped up the chrome edge and painted the whole thing black, after that I used goofoff to clean the new paint off the bars.

THREAD REVIVAL.

So I decided to go ahead and do this since the black paint on my grill was chipping pretty bad. I'm loving the look of it so far...Especially in the sunlight. I couldnt find citristrip or the super degooper so I used some circa 1850 paint & varnish remover.

Definitely recommend this mod, cheap and it looks decent in my opinion. Heres a few pics (ignore the dirty car...im giving her a wash tomorrow)
