Tint was a "must" for the cars that I owned. Besides, I don't think it's ghetto. Except for the front windows, tint is a standard now for most SUV's and even minivans.

 

Like ur chrome trunk lid Bea. They do well to dress up the rear. I'm with you 100% on how the car would look if u were to tint only the back windows. It just looks better with all of them tinted. I never had any issues with the cops for having my front windows tinted. I remember when this guy tapped the front of my car with his SUV, I lowered my front windows all the way for when the cops came to do the accident report just in case they said something about my tints.

 

I've had tint on my previous cars but I just don't want some random cop to have the chance to pull me over for no reason. I like to have a couple drinks on the weekends and not saying that I drive wasted but all it takes is a couple drinks to get a DUI.

the only thing id do with your car right now, is take off the 20in dub badge..tacky.. and as far as the tint goes and it being illegal? who cares. you can only have 70% here in NY, which is basically so light you cant even tell its on the window and is a huge waste of money. 20% looks nice on white (what i had), its dark but not dark to the point where cops normally harass you, basically its one shade up from what most people call "limo" black. anyway, tint it how you want. if you get a ticket for it, pay it, keep the tint, and move on... im setting myself up for some real fun with the next gs; black on black, 5% tint on all side windows and rear, curtains on all 4 side windows, 20% tint on the whole front windshield its gonna be funnn and i will get pulled over pretty much every time i leave the house. oh well.

dont get black tint in your case. Get the smokey reflective looking tint.

I have 35% on my car now and I had 20% before on my ES. The only problem I ever had because of them was when I was down at Rutgers with a school cop that had nothing better to do. I think if you go with a 35% tint you shouldn't have any problems, it's not too dark and sometimes on a sunny day it's kind of hard to tell it's tinted.
