Thumbs up Holy $#!+ - IS430 shown...

I know this probably should be in the IS section but since it uses the GS 4.3 engine I thought I'd post here. Plus, it may point to where the GS is going...

http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content...._code=07057426

... Also debuting at Essen (German motor show) was a 396-hp supercharged V8-powered 4.3-liter version of the Lexus IS, a concept aimed at cars like the BMW M3 and Mercedes-Benz C32 AMG. The Lexus concept also boasts height- adjustable suspension, an upgraded brake system with six-pot brake calipers, exterior styling kit and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Damn...just think of the speed it can do.

But I still think that the IS is too small for me.

sounds awsome, maybe lexus really is reading clublexus!!

although i would be worried about the weight distrobusion... i know the 2JZ is a very heavy engine but i think even that may be a bit too big for the altezza, doesn't it have a 2.0L 215HP engine in japan?

I don't think it would come into production in the US, they don't wanna run off some people who want a 4.3 liter that wanted just to get a GS. Cause if hte IS comes with the V8, then it would cross markets, some of the markets. I just think it's just a project and developement.

The IS is WAAAAAAAAAY tooooo small for me also....
If they chase the M3 before they challenge the M5 I will be ttly. let down by Lexus... After all, the GS was out long before the IS, and the M3 came out over a year after the current M5...
M5 needs to be challenged... Even the Mod'd IS 430 will not be considered a "Super-sedan".... Lexus needs to build a "Super-sedan"(like the E55 or the M5)

Before L-tuned was released, there were several rumors about a super charged GS with 400 hp with "L" badge. I called all the local dealers, and only Longo knew about L-tuned at that moment. I asked, "so when will this SC GS release?" They told me that they were developing a new engine which I suppose it's the GS430 engine(?). They may misunderstand.

Even until today, I'm still waiting Lexus to have the answer for M5 and E55.....

Why not, it is the same engine.
I know in Holland, if you get TTE stuff installed at the dealer they cover the normal warranty.

Sasha,

The 3S-GTE has been known to run a GReddy T-88. The car supassed the 200mph barrier mark. However, the engine was in a gold MKIV Supra TT.
