There's a simple fix to the GS430 response...just install a 3.76 lsd
No need to brake torque to light up those rear tires.

As much as I love my 400, I would want a 430 over it any day.

The interior touches are beautiful. The taillights are nicer. ML > Nak (even though I love my Nak). Apparently you get more mpg. And the grille is nicer.

Subtle differences, but coming from Lexus you know they would be good ones.

Yeah you're right; I have 3.92 from a GS300, no LSD tough .

Only thing I like between the 98-00 GS are the wheels the 5 spoke on the 98-00 looks a lot more sportier than the 7 spoke.

One more thing I forgot.

GS 430 adds head airbags and I believe side ones. GS 400 has dual airbags.

is side airbags standard on all GS?

when I sat in a 98' GS400, the side panel said side airbag I think.

But my car doesn't say that

EDIT: Nevermind I found it:

"Standard passive safety equipment includes next-generation driver and front passenger airbags, with reduced propellant power. Side airbags are integrated into the front seat edges for more consistent positioning relative to the occupant, regardless of seat position."

I bet no one has noticed this.... There are two rear brake lights, one in the rear deck and spoiler. This vehicle they used for the press shot must have had the spoiler installed AFTER the vehicle left the factory. You would think they wouldn't let that go for a press/brochure shot.

Also, can someone explain the differences between the 98-00 regular wired throttle and the GS430 drive-by-wire throttle? I know drive-by-wire is electronic and there are no throttle wires connected to the engine. But, from what I've read, drive-by-wire makes for better throttle response. However, most say the 430 lacks in comparison to the 400.

My GS430 has the breaklight on the spoiler as well as in the rear window. Is the rear brake light supposed to be deleted if the spoiler is added at the factory?
