1998 Gs300
I just bought a 1998 GS300 with 32,000 miles. It was a spectra blue mica in immaculate condition with memory, heated seats, 6-disc changer, and moonroof. They were asking $31k for it. I traded in a.......don't laugh....... 94' Thunderbird (POS from college) and they wanted to give me $2k on trade-in. After some debate they ended up giving me $5k for the thunderterd (I paid $6k 4 years ago and it was pretty much worthless to me now). So it ended up being $26k before t/t/l. I thought it was a good deal. What do you guys think?
After driving this car for 2 days, I can't believe the difference. I find myself now wanting to leave work, just to drive my car. Also, it only came with the owner's manual supplement. Where would be a good place to get the actual owner's manual? I can't figure out the garage door transmitter.

if i recall, setting the homelink is simple.
assuming you don't have a rolling code for the gate/ garage door you are trying to control, just hold the homelink button you choose until it flashes. release that button and then hold the remote close to the homelink panel and hold that button till the light indicate acceptance of the frequency. test it.
if you have a rolling code door/gate, it's a little more complicated. i did it, but forgot the difference. i recall having to climb the ladder in the garage to use some button on the main device. i can get my manual out of my car tomorrow if you need this info.

yoda,
welcome and congrats....consider what they gave you for the ford, the deal was pretty good. the GS is quite addicitve, sometimes i go down to the garage just to look at it...do a little touch up wipe, just the basic bonding ritual..
for the manuals, call steve/gordon at carson toyota for all yourpparst need too 1800-90-toyota, or
try www.irontoad.com if steve does not have it.
do as chowder instructed for the home link. but make sure you clear out the previous memory by pressing the 2 outside buttons at the same time first.
