Apparently sitting on a revised version of the Soarer's (Lexus SC430) platform, the batmobile-like Toyota FXS prototype hints at things to come from Japan's No 1 carmaker and is the company's first open-air full-blown sports model since the lightweight MR-S (MR2 spider). It will directly target the likes of the Mercedes SL, the BMW Z8 and the Jaguar XJS convertible. With dimensions like 4150mm x 1870mm x 1110mm, the FXS screams high end performance.

Powered by a 4.3 litre V8 married to a 6-speed manual that spins to 8000rpm, the 1300kg rear-drive FXS's expected power output exceeds 230kW. And with 4-pot calipers all round and 18 inch tyres (front 245/40R18, rear 285/35R18), the FXS means business. But could it be the next Supra? One source says it's a Supra study model but we'll have to wait and see. And another insider also confirms that Toyota are well underway in the development of a 300kW plus V12 supercar that we will see once the company starts winning F1 races.

All I can think of is to take an old supra and do an engine swap from a new one!

 

The damm Nissan GT-R looks like a Judge Dredd-Mobile and this thing looks like the new batmobile. WTF is going on with the designers?

I hate it "futuristic" looks with real futuristic features...remember the original Ford Probe? When it came out, it was all futuristic looking and whatnot...buyers soon found out that it's still a POS Ford underneath all that exterior...and how fast did that design age? Look at them now...you'll laugh.

I think Nissan should DEFINITELY do something different with the GT-R...right now, it's almost as bad what Chevy did to the Impala...talk about f*cking some heritage...

I think the side and rear views look great, but the front looks like a weird old train.

 

Only thing I like of the four pics was the interior.. Looks too much like the Z car concept for my taste which is BUTT ugly.. The mechanicals sound great but TOYOTA / LEXUS please wrap a nice body around that or NO ONE will buy it..

 

I could never guess that those pictures were of a Toyota...

....looks more Cadillac style to me....very ugly.....didn't someone post a pic of another toyota super car here earlier (or maybe it was in a mag)....but that one did look really nice...
