Hey Fellow V300 Owner,

There should be a sticker right on top of the ECU with the serial number and product code. Standing in front of the car, the ECU is in an insulated box on the front-right. Something like 89661-(5 digits). The unit is dependent upon year the year of production. I hope this helps.

farseide,

By the way, is your Toyota Aristo V300 right-hand drive or a conversion? I like to make a few comparisons with you.

1) If it is a conversion (assuming you are running the factory twin sequential turbo) what did you do about the heater core?
2) What did you do about the fuel system (fuel pump, additional line/return line)?
3) Are you running a front mount intercooler, a GReddy side-mount or the factory intercooler? If you are running the FMIC, what did you do with your air conditioning line.
4) Do you have a picture of the engine bay?

Thanks in advance.

only a few very limited amount of shop-tuned GSs will have manual transmissions, mostly the Getrag 6. I know Esprit has a V300 with 6-speed. They don't make any from Toyota/Lexus with manual. Zero.

Ray is right about the factory not comming out with manual tranny JZS16#'s in Japan. I'm not too sure about the late generation Aristo though. JZS147 on ClubLexus might know. I know on the late gen. the 1UZ was offered as well as a four wheel drive model.

In Japan more Aristos (3.0V and V300) convert to the 5-speed manual tranny. Supposedly it's more practical, abundant, cheaper, and does not require as much modification (driveshaft does not have to be modified!) as the Getrag-6. By the way, this is identical manual tranny to the 1JZGTE's, manual 2JGE's. That and there is not enough safe locations to use the 6th gear efficiently. Also I noticed that the manual conversions all seem to be running the F Con V-Pro as a stand alone ECU minus the factory ECU with automatic transmissions map. However, if the car was in New Zealand or the Middle-East (Arabia, Emirates, Kuwait, etc.) that would be a different story...

it's already hard to even SEE one, let alone driving one

There are more JZS147 GS300s with manuals then the 160/161s.

Biggie27,
It's possible. However, my question to you is how much money are you willing to spend? Reliably, to run a manual tranny on the GS400 is to disable the automatic transmission map (w/ respect to RPM). Either have the ECU, reprogrammed or flashed (might as well have a custom ignition/fuel mixture recalibration) or run a popular stand alone system. I know you can run the infamous Pektel T6 with custom wiring harness. That system is going to run you close to $15,000. Add the transmission itself, twin-plate clutch, modified driveshaft and fabrication you're past $19,000. By the way, with the T6 comes a state-of-the-art miss-firing system or turbo antilag. Yeah, you can safely run turbos with this computer and have them spooled constantly... just like the Rally Cars in the WRC. The problem is to find someone qualifed enough to do the work for you.

So, what you are saying that I better go out and buy some lottery tickets? J/K!!
That is a lot of money to spend on one mod but you will have a one of a kind, awesome GS.
It is a bit to rich for my blood though.

Default Sorry...gone for a while...

My Aristo is a right hand drive. I imported last year with 45 miles. I took out the original turbo and installed Blitz Twin Turbo. Fits perfect. Luckily I have a friend that works in Japan and here in US that handles all the installation of all parts. I know most of you guys are straight professional. I am slowly learning to be one like yourselves. So be patient with me and I will learn from you all. Take Care

Farseide, do you have any pictures of the car. I would love to see a V300.
