the starter itself is about $300 from lexus. Labor will depend from shop to shop. I have a GS400 and my car was $600 out the door from local auto shop that works on import.
damn this is gonna cost, i gotta get my 90k done too so thats bout 1300, and my brakes, and tires, thats another couple hundred, and this....
i guess no rims this summer
there is a chance your labor for the starter may be cheaper because your intake manifold will be taken off to change the spark plugs anyways.
You have a 300? Your starter is on the drivers side of the engine. My shop charges a couple of hours for that repair and the starter from Lexus is between two and three bills. If you find a reputable independant you should save more.
i know of a independant shop that specializes in lexus, but i dunno if id want them to do my 90k, my cousin got his done there and his car is still runnin strong at 110k so i think i might check the place out
Right next to the battery, there should be a fuse box. check in there. I'm not sure if the alternator fuse is in there, because I've never need to look for it.
Alternator fuse is in the fuse box next to the battery. It should be the second big fuse from right side. At least that's where it is located in GS3. Remove it and see if it's broken inside, it has clear plastic side - very easy to see.
