Judges Have Different Biases If You Are Goin To Do More I Suggest Choose A Route Either Go With A Dope Trunk Set Up Or Do Some Basic Bolt On Motor Mods And Try To Put As Much Shiny ***** In The Engine Bay As You Can.. Ive Been To A Couple Of Car Shows In Colorado And Thats Mostly What They Look For.. Something With Flare.. If You Were To Show In Cali Or Seattle Id Suggest Go With Jdm Pieces However Most People Dont Notice Those As Much. Just My Opinion.. Id Love To See Pics.. Maybe I Can Get A Better Feel

You're car has a nice, classy, clean look. It doesn't have a car show look. IMO

Hey man I love the look of your car but it seems that for the most part you have a choice and it's go VIP style or go show style. I started modding my car after I started going to shows so when I started I already had in mind what the show guys look for in mods. Lots of people on CL hate my car but it does win at shows with the exception of HIN. Sometimes I wish my car looked more VIP but there are also a lot of times when peoples heads snap around when they see my car or some just lose control and start stammering trying to find the words and usually just settle for DAAAAAAMN!! But to be honest it is very hard to be successful in both arenas I say take a look at Bluelex or some of the other guys that are doing it big at the shows yet they still demand the "that's classy " quotes from the other CL members. Of course this is just my opinion...... Good luck no matter what you do the car is already HOT!!! :D

I decided to go ahead and post a few of my car as well.

Just put a big snail under the hood and nice shiny intercooler where that big gaping hole in your bumper was made for. That should win you a pretty big trophy :D

Trunk setup and I can raise and lower it from my remote for the wow effect.

I think there are more qualified show cars on here but go far as much I.C.E as possible.

Remember... QUALITY over QUANTITY. Just because you have a bunch of stuff jammed into every nook and cranny in the vehicle, doesn't mean that it will win a trophy. So, before you go out and buy a lot of stuff that doesn't complete the cars "look" just think about what direction you want to go and then run with it (ie: sporty, classy, vip, etc.) One of the big things I would knock points off when I judged a few years back was the "flow" of the vehicle. I don't care if it was a car that had $100,000 in mods, but the looks didn't flow, I wouldn't give it high points. Basically, don't make it VIP on the inside and sport on the outside. Or heavy chrome with carbon fiber bits everywhere.

Just another thing to let judges know what you have done is to have a sign or some sort of display that lets them know what to look for. The hood down with the "Lexus Only" parking sign in between will not allow them to look at the engine bay. So make sure that it's up and open.

The devil is in the details... so just keep your head up and keep the consistency! Good Luck!

keep in mind most judges aside from major car shows are looking for bling factor.. or something that makes the car stand out.. you have a nice classy car however there is nothing that screams look at me. that is part of the problem with a GS it already looks great as is so most of the mods are very minimal. thats why maybe polishing engine pieces or getting supreme I.C.E.(in car entertainment) will get you some more points when it comes show time.

To me, your wheel fitment, overall height of the car, front bumper too aggressive-( no intercooler, so why the huge opening?) trunk set-up too plain.I dont mean to offend, just my opinion.

bighitbike Jun 20, 2006 04:29 PM

Fill in that whole in the bumper with a shiny intercooler is a big big thing for your car!
