What GS inspired you to buy or build your current GS?
I saw this thread in the sc forums and thought it was cool than it got me thinking. Shout out to the sc guys, I'm going to "borrow" your idea.
So Who inspired you to either Buy or Build your current GS? I thought it would be cool to pay homage to the guys who really inspired you. Also thought it would be cool to find out who inspired some of the old G's like the glen's, rom's, dave's, neo's to name a few.
1. Name
2. Post a pic.
3. Why?
I didn't know of clublexus when I bought my gs, I only wanted to put 20's and drop it with a small beat in the trunk. Than after looking in the gallery I found 2 cars that changed my mind.
JacobT & RMMGS4
With JacobT's car is was perfect a super clean rmm kit with 5 spoke chrome wheels, and with glen it was again that rmm kit with clean wheels both made me search hard and finally pull the trigger on that kit. Both pics were saved on my pc as inspiration. Thanx guys.. In general I know CL has inspired me the most but these were the forefront guys that got me started.
What about you guys?

Back in 2000, I would say it was Martin Craft's GS400 from Numura Tuning & design that inspired me to say wow about the potential of this car. His car was featured here http://www.overboost.com/story.asp?id=152

I always liked the design of the GS. I had seen a few at shows with wheels and mild kit and liked the way they looked. I originally just wanted a mild drop, 19s or 20s and a multi media setup for the interior. Once I found CL I started thinking about doing more quality mods, and just more mods period. Cant really think of any one car, but the other thread about the GSs that used to be here, alot of those cars gave me some inspiration

Man when I first joined I told D I woul dnever lower a lexus and add exhaust lol. Then I built my baby but had to dismantle her before her prime. Anways when i first started browsing the board I was heavily influenced by 3 main guys:
Bluelex. You kidding me bro, your car is one of the hottest cars on this site if not the hottest. You gave me direction and made me realize how nice of a car we had.
LXOGOOD: Again one of the hottest cars on this site. You set standards that people follow, always willing to push the envelope. You got me to buy that damn chager lol.
D2AUTOSPORT: I told you I wasn't going to mod my car lol. You showed the right way to do it and helped me create that weapon I had. Just sad you left then my car left lol.
So those are the 3 that really inspired and helped me build my lex. Hopefully I will be doing this one just on a smaller scale.

To answer the question; What was my inspiration on buying the GS4? It would have to be the Motortrend Televison review I saw on TNN back in 1998. The GS4 out performed the famed BMW 540I, and earned the coveted Motor trend Import car of the year award the same year. That convinced me to get this car.

My inspiration way back then was the original Rod Millen built GS, that you still see today in their website and I used to see it in their ads when they used to advertise regularly in the back pages of Road & Track, Car & Driver, etc.
Long story short. I liked the car so much, I bought the original car from Rod Millen back in 2000. After flying down to LA, to pick the car up, I took a 40 min. drive out from Huntington Beach, and participated in my first CL meet held at Carson Toyota that same day.
Those were the good ole days.
Man that old pic of my car brings back memories. Here's the latest version with some subtle changes. New Rims, brakes, tint, black chrome rear trim, only the new Wise tails are missing.

My Influences???
I had alway's liked the GS from the 1ST generation model and thought that one day I would be the owner of one! I was fortunate enough to wait awhile and I was blessed with the ability to purchase a 2nd generation GS (Platinum Series)! I had seen many GS's in the neighborhood with tires and rims but nothing to the magnitude of what I saw when I was introduced to Clublexus! It was my first initial meet (Old Town), when my car was bone stock that inspired me to mod! I was overwhelmed by the looks of (Lexusondubs,Teelex,Lexforlife,00lexondub) and many other members car at this meet! Many of these members mentioned Bluelex's car which allowed me to check it out on CL! All I could say was wow! After being introduced to a few more members such as Alsilverbullet and Pmatrix ,this really got me going with this modding thing! All have been an inspiration to mod along with other members cars here on CL!
Alsilverbullet's ride
Pmatrix' ride!
Teelex's ride!
Lexusondubs ride!
Bluelex's ride!
They all were my first influences!!!

I joined CL after I had made up my mind about a GS.
I remember reading the 1st drive of the GS400 in the Oct 1997 Car & Driver, and the Feb 1998 MT Import Car of the Year magazines (still have them) and told myself I WILL have one of these one day.

When I first saw a GS400 back in 97 I knew that was a car that I wanted. Soon later I was able to get one and decided to get SBM after I saw the color in person. Once coming on here many have contributed to my inspiration but the main ones that stand out are:
Manary (clean and the car that made me go with iforged aeros. This is an old pic w/o them)
Dee (old pic also but once I saw it in person I was amazed)
PandaGS430 (Andy's car is local to me and just INSANE! I could stare at it for days)
Jay (My new inspiration, love his ride and the JDM style)
Rominl (Seeing it made me realize how good blue can look)

Neo .... "The One"
Hmmm, When I first started looking at a Luxury Car I was going to buy the 740iL and then a friend of mine who has owned many Lexus's had changed my mind with more and more positive statistics. After that I had searched the internet and found this website and from their one of the CL Members by the name of NEO - As his car stood out with a different stance from most with the Antique Bronze Mica colored GS. I told my wife that I was going to buy one and searched for almost about 8 months while being furstrated because nothing really hit me until I found my GS - 1998 GS 400 Antique Bronze Mica, and to think I was going to buy a GS300, I am now glad that I bought the 400, definately a keeper!
I have to say NEO was one of many that inspired me to build my GS.
Thanks Neo and the many others who still inspire me on a daily basis.
Cheers,
Revhard191
Sorry but I dont know how to post a pic of his car, but here is mine for everyone to see.
