found a great emblem paint (for any plastic)

After trying 3 different brands of spray paint for my black emblems and grill, I seriously recommend Rust-Oleum Plastic spray paint (http://www.rustoleum.com/product.asp...t_id=391&SBL=1).

I tried Krylon Fusion (went on too thin) and then Duplicolor regular black (horrible - very thin and runny, and their clear coat would spray as a mist, and randomly as a stream, ruining the PITA of a paint job I did with the main spray).

I went to Home Depot for Citristrip (best stuff for stripping delicate things like the emblems, very mild but gets the job done) and came across the Rust-Oleum. Does an amazing job. It's sticky as ****, I gave it two coats and it went on nice and thick, with no pitting, running or orange peel. Took forever to dry at room temp (overnight), but the results are amazing. I didn't need a clear coat - I just took some rubbing compound (3M 1200grit+) and they look great. This stuff is made for lawn chairs and such so I don't think I need to protect it very much living on the back of my car. Grill is next and so are pics.

Rustoleum is good stuff. I used it to paint some olympic weights I have and it has held up great, even when the weights are slammed on the ground. It hasnt chipped or anything which is very surprising, so I imagine it will hold up great on emblems. Did they have a wide variety of colors to choose from?

They had about half the colors listed on the site (not too many of the wierd ones, but the standards were there). Wish I had gone to Home Depot earlier. This is also my 2nd time painting the grill - Dupli-Color is crap :(

Great info...this has to be a lot better than me paying $48 for a set on ebay.

I'll give it a try. I have tried some other types that don't work.
Will this paint give it a mirror/silver finish that lasts?
