IF I GET 20'S ON MY GS300 WITH OUT LOWERING MY CAR WILL THE TIRES RUB AGNIST THE FENDER?? i had that problem before with my other car... i got 18's and the tire would rub agnist the fender well and the fender well would cut the tire. any kinda problem ina gs300?
|
It will not rub if you do not lower the car. It will also not rub with 1.5" drop if you have the correct tire size and the right offset.
|
Like Diesel said, if you have the right offset and tiresize, you won't rub...with your 18's, you must have gotten a generic offset or the wrong width for the car you put it on...
Don't buy crappy wheels because they have limited offsets and sizes which can lead to rubs... And you will want to lower your car. A GS with 20's w/o lowering looks lame...looks like a 4x4 |
chrome lowenhart ld1's crappy ??:) didnt think so
yokahama tires crappy?? :) didnt think so thats the combo i orderd and paid for and i will lower it with H&R or L-Tuned which one would look better? |
Depends how you like your ride I guess.. The L-Tuned setup is pretty similar to your factory ride but with 20's it will be a bit harsher.. For me I would go this route since I didn't get the GS with intentions of making it a sports car..
H&R setup is nice and aggressive (Ask Diesel since he has that setup on his ride with Bilstein shocks).. I can't comment on the ride since I have never been in a car with 20's and H&R springs.. Like manaray said if you get 20's a lowering job is essential or the car just looks wrong.. |
LD1 and Yokos are NOT crappy, but you didn't list what you were getting which is why I said that...just wanna make sure you get good stuff for your Lexus...what is the exact size(s) that you're doing...
20" x ??" with +?? offset 2??/??-20" tires... Fill in the ? and I'll tell you if you'll rub. As for Ltuned vs. H&R, Ltuned will keep your suspension factory warranty so long as a Lexus dealership (or, I believe, ASE certified place) installs it...the H&R's will give you more a drop... Personally, I would go with H&R's and Bilsteins... |
MMM, I'm not going to lie to you, if you go from stock 16's to 20 inch rims with H&R w/ bilstein combo, you will notice a significant change in the ride comfort. The 20's alone will affect your ride comfort greatly let alone going with the h&r's as well. With me, I've gotten used to it and I find it not bad at all.
How old are you again? 16? If so, dam 16 yrs old with 20" rims. If back then I had 20" rims on a lex, I wouldn't rent a limo to my prom  |
lol no limo renting will be needed here :)
the tire size and the offset ill find out for sure on friday (day my rims come in to the shop.. or i can goto the shop and ask.. but im too lazy. i think ill go with h&R sence i care about the looks more then comfort/ |
