Default Seats

Does anyone know if the front seats out of a 99 GS300 with heated seats will fit into a 01 GS430 with heated seats ? Will all of the electronics/connectors - seat motor, lumbar support, heat, airbags, etc interchange or will I have to modify anything? Are the airbags the same?

I think the rear seat will probably sweap out with no issues? Thoughts?

Thanks...

Neil

Default Has Anyone swapped seats?

With all of the custom seats I see in GS show cars, I hope someone will share their knowledge on seat swaps.

Thanks..

Neil

Not 100% sure, but I do know before you disconnect any of the wire harness from the old seats u must disconnect the battery so ur airbag light does not come on. I would think the seats and electrical components are the same.

doesn't 01+ seats have side airbags in them and pre 01 does not?

I'm sure it bolts up, and if the electrical plugs were different, I'm sure you could splice them to work. (other than airbag)

Whats up Chuck,
My '98 has 'em too. What the early GS' didn't have are side curtain airbags.

Neil64,
Not 100% sure. But I don't think you'll have any problems swapping out the seats. What's the reason for the swap?
Good luck,
Will

Default Reason for the seat swap

I just sold my 98 GS400, ivory interior with 86K and now have an 01 GS430, black interior with 57K. I find my GS430's seats offensively firm, especially in the butt. The GS400 seats just seemed much softer, more supple. Now I am taking into account the wear difference but others have voice the same opinion, that the 98-00 GS300/400 are softer, hence my investigation into a seat swap.

The other option is to have my current seats stuffed with more foam, which may end making more sense.

I should have unbolted my seats on both cars prior to me selling my 98. Then I would know for sure.

Does anyone have wiring diagrams of both cars that could look at the differences for me?

Thanks..

Neil
