Hey, I'm looking for a replacement shift ****. I like the 'Cobra' by momo but I don't know if it will fit or if it will even look good. Can you guys post some pix of your shift ***** so I can get a picture of whats out there and what fits in a GS?

Thanks!

Try search out for 'shift ****' on the GS forum and you'll find a bunch of threads about them. Here's a good one from way back, for example. RIP Camren

here's my write up ...

Let me think back ...it’s actually pretty easy

1. Remove ashtray and disconnect light…open ashtray and pull out
3. Pop out the wood trim...use a flat head screw driver up but the buttons and it should pop out.and disconnect wires…you might have to put you car in Neutral to remove wood
4. Remove stock oem shifter ****. Twist off
5. Remove the PRND12 bezel and the black slider …w/ flat head screwdriver 4 clips on both sides

Now for the boot ….the boot need to be modified a bit …the MOMO boot has a rubber band at the bottom of it which makes it cup in… we don’t want that because the boot needs to cover a lot of space on the front and back… if the rubber band is not removed it will make gaps in front and bottom …so…

6. Cut a little of the stitching off at the bottom of the boot and cut the rubber band and pull it out. now it’s wide open at the bottom
7. Put the boot on see what side will be in front …mine has the MOMO logo so that went in front. make note of the rear of the boot… pull it back.. you need to make to little cuts on both sides.just big enough to stick in a zip tie...the zip tie holds the boot so you wont have a giant gap on the back part of the boot…..you zip tie the boot to the black bar that is right infront on both side and adjust …

8. Once it is zip tied in …stick the boot in as much as possible on the front, right, and left side
9. Now fold to your liking …play with it

And that should be it … have fun

Guys just so you know you can get a treatment for your shifter that gives it a better grip. It's call the Sticky Highgloss Lowtemp Ondemand Baklite, or SHLOB for short. I went to the lexus dealer cause my headlight brunt out and while I was there the cute receipionist was telling me about the treatment, so I figure what the hell! I might as well have my **** shlob'd. It took like 10 minutes and boy does it feel great! I suggest anyone with a stick go get their **** shlob'd right away!
