depends on how much you know and trust about your installer. i mean, no one here can help you. if it's a good shop, i don't see the problem. but if they are just good on painting and that's about it, that's a different story

Is your painter also a bodyshop?

Mine did an incredible job molding in my old TTE lip and painting it.

I had my guy just paint mine...simply because when I asked him if he has or can install one of these....he hesistated for a split second which told me to tell him "Just paint it...I'll do the rest"
Glad I did because I did an excellent job installing it myself..

my friend swears by this painter... i've seen two of his jobs and they turned out pretty sweet...

while i was at the shop, i asked him about attaching the lip:
i asked him what he uses and he told me he normally uses 3m tape..
i then asked him to use epoxy glue, he told me that using epoxy glue u'll never be able to take off the lip without ruining the paint ....
i said the hell with the paint that lip is never coming back off

now:
i just got off the phone with the painter; he told me that he has already test fitted the lip and it seems to fit pretty good.

he told me that he suspects he'll need to rivet some screws on the bottom, nothing that is visible though.

he also told me that he wants to use 3m tape and not my previous request for epoxy glue, he says it'll hold it pretty secure...
he also told me if i dont like 3m tape when u come pick it up...he be glad to replace it with epoxy later.

When my body shop painted mine he wasnt sure of himself either so i did it myself. You should just do it yourself, its not that big of a job. Plus nobody is going to take care of your car like YOU will...

If he is riveting and using the doudle sided tape you'll be fine. Save yourself the hassle and let him do it. At least if it's hosed up it sounds liek he's going to take ownership of it. If you hose it up you'll be standing in front a mirror yelling at yourself .
