Default Lexus Newbie...flame away!

Allow me to introduce myself...
I'm an original ricer from back in the day. Just recently bought a 01 gs300, Black on black, 49000 miles. Looks like it's finally time to sell my Gen 2 Integra. The Gs is spotless except for a replaced headlight (non green tint), no floor mats, and no remote key. The Local Lexus dealer had the same exact car and mileage going for $28995, i got mine at a small "upper class" used car dealer for 18,100. They originally wanted $19500, but when they found ougt i had cash i was able to walk out the door with all taxes and bs for $20000. Any opinions on what kinda deal i got? The only other question i have is should i pay the couple hunderd bucks for a new remote key from dealer? Or should i just get an aftermarket alarm with all the keyless, autostart, kill switch goodies?

P.s....loving the forums. Anyone wanna buy my integra? Or how about my 04 Gsxr? So i can dump all my money in the new member of the Family. I'm in love with Lexus's!

I think you did just fine, the deal sounds pretty good. As for the key with the remote, on my '01 all it does is lock, unlock and open the trunk. There's a panic alarm, but who has ever used that? It also does a few other tricks that I never use. Opens/closes the sunroof, can open/close all of the windws at once, can be re-programmed to leave the headlight on for a period of time or not at all, etc. If I remember correctly there a page at the official Lexus site that can tell you all of the features if your manual doesn't. If there are aftermaket systems that can duplicate the original and give you additional features, I'd say save your money. Welcome to CL and post pics ASAP.

I second that!!
Get some new rims/tires (18" or more) then lower it! As soon as it stops raining, detail the car, whith a show car finish the black onyx paint will really POP! You will turn heads everywhere you go.
