Issues with radio and Nav
Issue #1 - I'm a fairly new owner to this club who just purchased a '00 GS4 with all options on it and just wondering if anyone has had a strange noise come from there radio that sounds almost like static but it's more of an electric buzzing sound.
Issue #2 - The car also has a Nav unit which hasn't yet been updated (bought the car from a guy in Missouri and had it shipped to VA). I've tried the Nav out a couple of times and it can't seem to get the directions right. I'm hoping it's not something wrong with the Nav and just needs to be updated for my area but does anyone know if that could be the case since the car was brought from a midwest state to east coast state??
Anyone who can help me out THANK YOU in advance!!

What do you mean by 'can't get the directions right"? Do you mean you can't find the addressess at all? If so, you probably need to change the region to be where you're located.

Issue#1--It's not your cell phone is it? I've found mine can broadcast static on some radios, not on my Lexus though. Try turning it off and see if it still happens.
Issue#2--as Dave said it is probably set to the region the car used to be in, you need to set it to search in your region. Also may want to update it, however I think you can only update to 2003 as you have the hard drive? Not sure but you can seach on this.

45K service on Friday
Thanks for the advice... I did actually have my phone in the car both times and I keep it in the ash try just below the stereo so maybe that was the problem.
I am bringing the car in for the 45K service on Friday and I will ask them about the upgrade to the NAV. It is hard drive based and is a $295 service. 2003 was the last update and will be the last update for the hard drive based units apparently.
