Remote on Key has bad range?
#16
Well as for changing the battery yes its that easy. Once you take the screw out slide the cover downwards first then it should pop upwards. I was messing with it for 20 mins trying to pry it open before I realized that I had to slide it down first
I'm not sure if a new battery is going to fix my short range problem. I got my car new off the lot 3 months ago so the batteries in the keys should still be fresh. My maximum range is around 25ft.

yeah...i've been having that problem lately too...i would press it and expect to hear a beep...but it wouldn't..and then i would need to walk closer to my car and watch the light to make sure it's activated...i just think it's the battery...need me a new battery soon...

the purpose of the remote starter is to start the vehicle, cool or heat up the vehicle before we get in. very useful in extreme cold weather where you can start the car while you are at your office or home
tell me how cold/hot your interior is going to be when you can only started it from 5 cars away versus starting after getting in.....not much
the factory alarm's range is okay for keyless entry, not for remote starter....

haha i know man, i was just kidding
to be honest i got the autostart for my car mostly for the cool factor, i know what you mean about being hot though, but since my car usually cools down relatively fast (thank god i don't live in las vegas or hawaii, lol), so far it's been ok
and still, i think it's just somehow the gs remote sux for some yrs..... my sc430 i got auto top down and autostart, i can do that from way far away, easily 200 ft. i was inside the dealership and put down the top to scare the two people wondering around my car.
