You have to remove the back seat first...the bottom seat can be lifted up by pulling upward. after you remove the bottom seat, you will see the screws for the back part of the seat. there are also screw behind the headrest, remove the head rest and ift up the flap. then you can get to the rear shelf...

It's been a while since I did this myself. You may also need to take off your C-pillar panels.

You can take the seat bottom out and pull the seat back forward without detaching the seat belts.

It'll take you an hour, give or take.

It's a good writeup

Once you do this, you'll also want to search on how to disable the brake warning light.

I've replaced my deck with 3rd brake light with one without and now sometimes wish I hadn't... the sound is much better with the solid deck (sub underneath) BUT I now can't swap out the rear spoiler as easily for one without a brake light built in like the OEM

ugh... i'm still faced with the problem of how to get around the seatbelts... it seems everyone replaces the original deck and never has to deal with how to pull the seatbelts thru the openings

i wasn't aware of a brake warning light. when i got the car the rear wing was already deleted and the light wasn't on.... hm.

it's that simple? maybe i'm making things too complicated... i was wondering about the seatbelt retractor... how do i make that part go thru the opening in the deck? or is there some way to do it from the buckle side?

You can also get the seatbelt out of the guide. It's just a piece of plastic that snaps together.
