I just went to County Line Lexus and they are now selling a Conversion kit to make your regular leather wheel into the wood wheel for the GS. It comes with wood pieces which they look like they glue on. It cost $675.00 for it. Has anybody purchased it from the dealer and does it look and feel like the factory wheel?

Can you give me the number to that dealership? I wonder if all the dealerships have them. The reason I ask that is I went to my local Lexus dealer in Tampa inquiring about the wood steering wheel, but they did not even mention anything about it. Please post a reply with the number or you can e-mail me at ap0718@clublexus.com. Let me know if you hear anything because I am very interested in getting the kit.

Thanks

I asked about that yesterday at my local lexus dealer. They looked at me like I was talking a different language. :o I wish Lexus dealerships have a systematic way of letting ALL dealerships in the USA know of new products/updates going on instead of taking weeks at a time for everyone to know.

Like L-tuned, it took WEEKS after it came out for anyone to know what L-tuned was at my area.

i checked with my dealer too, and no one knew what the heck i was talking about.
doesn't the price seem a little high since you can buy the whole wood/leather steering wheel for around $500.
but then again i guess there's the labour cost that you have to consider to have someone install the new wheel.

steering wheel

The last time I was on ebay I found a wood steering wheel for all lexus models from a site called creative car concepts.com. There normal price is im thinking 650 but I have seen a couple that have gone for the gs for 355 before. These steering wheels are the whole exact wood steering wheels and are the exact duplicate of the lexus steering wheels. Instead of cheap glue on wood pieces you get the whole steering wheel and an added bonus is that if you send your old steering wheel back to them they send you a 100 dollars in return.

Hmm, not for nothing but I wanna see if anyone has dealt with them before I start seriously consider buying from them.

I have been saving some $$ and am planning to buy the wood/leather wheel from creative car concepts sometime in July for my RX. They have had the same wheel on ebay on auction over and over. I really want the OEM one from the '01 RX, but it too expensive - will have to buy the airbag too.
