Question

Do the taillights from a 99 GS4 fit onto a 98? What are the differences? I don't really like that little orange piece in the middle, I know there's an ALL red version in a later model. Will those fit on a 98 or am I stuck with the ones I have? Or have to pay big bucks to get one custom made or fitted? Thanks for the info.

The taillights on 98, 99, and 00 are all the same, top and bottom red with orange and clear center.

2001 taillights are mostly red, and the bottom is orange and a small piece of clear. I think that's the one you're talkin about.

Yes you can put the 2001 ones on previous models. No Problem. Contact Steve @ Carson Toyota if you want s pair.

Or to save you money, just get some red film and cover the center piece. You'll have an ALL RED piece.

u can make the middle red if u want for $5. bunch of us bought some red 3M translucent film. it comes in a big sheet and u cut out what u want and then apply it. takes about 10 minutes to do both sides. i currently have the orange part red and it looks sick! looks like it came red stock. ray made a template so u can trace it onto the film and its really easy. i plan to red out my entire rear after i get my blue reverse lights ticket cleared next friday.

ray, do u have pics?

Thanks for the info guys. I'll try the red film first and see how it turns out, but I'll probably get the taillights from the dealer. Oh yeah, that's not my car; thats a car I saw in the gallery. I just wanted to show the orange part of the taillights. =P.

I don't see where Steve Carson's number is in the FAQ section. Does someone have it? Also what do I say? I got his name off this site? He must be a very considerate and unselfish person to be doing this for everyone. Is he really willing to help a stranger?

Disc, where do you buy this 3m film? How do you apply it? Glue? I want to try it on the small orange part of my '01 taillights too!
