Question

I'm looking at wheels but i really can't find a wheel that is extreamly light that is 19", 18s look too small for my taste. A wheel thats about 1lb/inch would be good, also

how much do tires usually weigh (245 and 295)?

how much heavier would a 10inch wide rim be than an 8 inch wide rim?

if you know any light 20" wheels also please tell, the kind of rim i would like is either:

A - Front wheels are about 9" wide, no lip, and i don't want it to be 3 piece because then the wheel looks smaller, i want the actuall spoke to go all the way to the tire, rear wheels are 11" - 12" wheels with a 1.5" lip. Some rims I like are the Racing Evo C-5, 1lb/inch, is this possible?

B - A Mesh wheel like the Racing Evo C-2, same lip and rim size as above

thanks guys i really don't know much about wheels and would like to learn.

last thing, where to see an online catalog of Volk Racing wheels?

I've never heard of anyone putting a rim wider than 10" on the back. Remember, 12" is a FOOT wide. The tire for that is like a racing slick .

Try the ITC by Sebring. They are made by Rays Japan. I almost bought these wheels. The 19s look HUGE!!!! I saw these wheels at D2 Technik and wow they look like 21s! The width is also massive. I have 9.5 in the rear but the 10 in width on those wheels looked so much wider. Check them out. The price on them is not so bad either. PS. the wheels look much better in person.

yeah the ITC is a good choice. My bro had them on his E class and they look great. Looks very big, and the quality is great too (VolkRacing, duh.)

I just thought you would like 5 spokes so I didn't bring this up.

Get the BBS LM wheels. Very nice but also very pricey. The best picture of this wheel is actually in the gallery. Follow the links to the carson clublexus meet. Look for a light aqua color GS among the cars in the Toyota museum. Beautiful isn't it! Courtesy of Calvin.

Sasha, you don't like that "dished" look of the ITC's? Hmmm, I love that look! (I wish the TTE's FRONT rim had it! The TTE BACK rim does and it looks good...but only 18"...too small)

Where's Miguel? I'm sure he knows of a light weight 19" 5-spoke!

Manaray, I like the TTE wheel alot too, but like you would rather see both front and back "dished". Can you put the same "dished" wheel in the front or is it too wide? Any idea on the price of those rims? Are they quality and not knock-offs? Can you suggest others that are similar? Thanks for your help.

The LMs are VERY NICE wheels but they cost a grip and they look mighty tiny. 18s look like 16s with the staircasing lip. (Hate that.) Maybe you can go with other BBS wheels like the RS2.

thanks, yea i don't like the staircasing lip either, just lip then rim so it looks as big as it is. about the TTE rears, i'm sorry maybe its my age but i cant stand them!! everytime i see them i feel sick!! i'm really sorry i had to say that, but i don't like those dish wheels at all, mostly because the lip makes the wheel look wide and the dish... ehhh... i dunno what it is, i guess i like straight spokes, sorry...

Sasha,

The only wheel in the world that meets your requirements is the five split-spoke Forged Mg Cyclone manufactured by RS Watanabe in Japan. The 19x8 wheel weighs 16.5 lbs . With the exception of the Mg Cyclones, every 19" wheel weighs at least 25 lbs (more than 1lb/inch).

2K1GS3 - The TTE's are great rims...I would do a set if they had 20" versions and they dished the front...the rear wheel is a 18x10...definitely will not fit on the front!

Now if someone in the U.S.A. got a OK to go ahead and make these in 19" and 20" with dished spokes, I think they might have some buyers (Dazz? HRE? Hello?)
