Stop me if I'm crazy, but on the GS430's, do the headlight lenses have a green tint to them ? I'm sure I saw this. If so, does anyone know if I can put GS430 headlight assemblies on my 98 GS 400 ?

Thanks

Yes, I think 2001 was the first year that they slightly tinted the lenses on the GS and subsequent models including the LS and IS.

Great, I wasn't crazy. I'm going searching tomorrow for some used assemblies, anyone know if they are interchangeable ?

Thanks again.

It is actually the chrome that is green. The plastic housing lens is clear.

The housings are all compatible so you can bolt the "green" ones on the 98 cars. Just make sure you get HID ones if you currently have HIDs or non-HID if you don't (unless you want to upgrade).

Check the GS classifieds. There was a pair selling not too long ago and I think they were HID. I dont know if they have sold already though

I have an GS430 w/hids and I cannot see green tint in them at all. I have never been able to notice it on any GS

It's hard to see on a dark car - it's very subtle - kind of like an old coke bottle. Mine don't look green at all either but if you look at a white one, a silver one or a cashmere one you'll see it or if you see two GS's next to each other, one a pre-'01 and one '01 or later...

i have seen gs430 with clear headlights and also gs430 with green tinted ones. if you put that side by side with a gs with clear chrome, you will see

snice you need the green chrome, you will need to get the whole headlight housing. if you get them new, they are actually "just" about 300 bucks. you can check with carson toyota
