welcome aboard my brotha

as far as mods , intake , exaust wont give you any real world ponies , they look great and sound good but thats really about it , as far chip , no way jose , does not exisit for the gs

my suggestion seeing you are bone stock, put on a set of decent coilovers and get some sway bars going on and maybe pony up a few more dollars and add a decent exaust mainly for sound and looks like the hks hi power or carson tuned

For $1500 and you want "power" performance, I'd skip the intake and exhaust and definitely any chip (all hype). I'd put on a high stall torque converter and complementing tranny cooler. This won't technically increase your power but will maximize the power you do have. You will definitely feel it off the line.

I agree with Neo. If you're looking for power, torque converter/tranny cooler is the way to go. I just installed these on my GS400 and WOW what a difference!

i have to agree with neo completely. if that's the money you want to spend, and you want more power, forget about intake, straight pipes, or exhaust. those are garbage for real power. they might give you a tad power you cannot feel.

get the tq converter and you will be very happy. new is around 700 bucks, install about 500 to 600.

if you even have money to get the 3.76 supra tt lsd unit (new 1400 + 200 install. used around 500 i guess), then you get all the best bang for the bucks mods you can get for performance

Unless he installs them himself, I think that puts it over the budget. That's the only reason why I did not suggest the LSD too.

but to me he can still spend those 1500 and get the tq converter done first installation of the two mods aren't really overlapping each other so it's ok

I'm fairly new on here, so I'm by no means anywhere near an expert, ecspecially compared to you guys, but it seems like I read somewhere else on here that with out at least 18" wheels, with a tc and lsd you would have slippage. Would that also be that case with just the tc or would he be fine with stock wheels?

nonono, not like that. without bigger and wider wheels, with tc and lsd, you might have good traction, especially if you nail the gas. there won't be any slippage on the tranny.
