Default wheels/no drop ?

if I got these wheels and left suspension stock(just for now) , would it make car look like it needs drop more than it already does even though the outside diameter with 245/40/18s is EXACTLY the same?

I would do suspension ALWAYS before rims....a car with stock rims and a drop looks nice but a car with 18" or bigger wheels with no drop....ouch! 4 x 4

but how does it make it look more 4x4 than stock if the outside diameter of tire is exactly same as stock? the car would be same height. same fender gap.

yes, it's always teh case. the bigger the wheel (thinner the tires) you always want drop more

Just got 245/40/18s on my GS with the stock suspension:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...=149137&page=2

I was thinking about 245/45/18 (26.60") instead of 245/40/18 (25.72").

I am in the same boat chuck. But I have narrowed my choices down significantly. If you got those wheels I dont think it would look horrible without a drop but I would definately plan to drop it in the future.

I personally think you should get a nice set of 18 or 19" staggered wheels for a real nice custom look. Good luck with your choice. Keep us updated

Looks good, drop would be more aggressive for sure, but I don't think that it makes car look higher than stock wheels, I think it actually looks better than stock. How does it ride?

Here is 18" with L-tuned drop. Front tires are 245/40 and rear 275/35

it would look OK with 245/45/18's and stock ride height (fills up the gap SOME)

it would look DECENT with 245/40/18's with a mild drop (l-tuned)

it would look GREAT with 245/40/18 with a coilover SLAM or 245/45/18 with l-tuned drop

my $.02

carry on

The ride is very close to the stock with the 16" rims . The stock suspension is so soft I have Falken Ziex ZE512s, much better traction than the stock 16" Goodyears.
