Wow thats good to hear that there dropping the 6 speed tranny in the 430 now. That will really get that lagging throttle moving.

What's the difference between the "P" and "STD" notes in the info above? I'm confused because it shows Adaptive Front Headlights as "STD" for the GS430 and "P" for the GS300. But at the same time it shows the V6 as "P" for the GS300. So "P" can't indicate optional or available.

The 4.3 is a carry-over @ 300hp. Believe it or not, but the real gem coming out of Lexus is their new larger displacement V6. State of the art, with hp from 300 and beond!

The only official information for the GS300 V6 engine is a 3.0L 245HP one. What other engine is available? There are only rumors of Hybrid engine using the 3.0L V6 but that is about it. I don't see Lexus releasing a new V6 3.0L 245HP engine then changing to a larger displacement within the short time. My guess would be for the HP for V8 to increase when the next Gen LS is release. I have not found any official reference of increase HP for the V8 only that it will remain 4.3L. With the recent increase of 30 to 40 HP for the 4.7L V8 engine found on the Tundra, 4Runner and GX470 (2005) I would hope there will be a similar bump in HP for the 4.3L engine also. I guess we will have to wait until Jan. 2005 when the final GS will be shown on the international car show to know the actual HP spec for the V8.

The big question in my mind is will the current SC and Turbos fit on it, funny how 300 crank hp seems like so littl now.

I think you have your tire sizes wrong....unless for some reason Lexus decided to go with WIDER 17" tires and narrower 18" tires

Did they mean 225 wide for the 17s?

Most likely it does stand for package. Lexus is certaintly big on offering packages, on the current RX330 Adaptive Headlights are only available in a Performance Package.

I did a copy/paste from a memo so it's correct.

You're welcome, it's my pleasure. Debut is March 2005 and for those of you on the west coast, probably it'll be at the LA Auto Show the first week in January. (Yay!)
