Should there be a light behind the "ECT/Power/Snow" rocker switch at night?

I replaced my ECT/POWER/SNOW rocker switch light this week. The bulb part number is 84999-10710. You also have to swap a little green cap that goes over the bulb from the old one to the new one so the light will have a green tint to it.
You remove the console as described earlier. Unscrew the switch panel from the console and remove the switch from the panel by pushing it back through the panel to clear the tabs on the short sides of the switch. Unscrew the bulb from the switch and replace the bulb.

My 98 GS4 doesnt light up, nor does my buddies 2000 & my other buddies 99, but all 01 and up owners have this so it must have been an oops that didnt get noticed until 01. If your car has this light & is a 98-00 it must have either been fixed by the previous owner or the console is out of a newer gs. Im gonna go to the junkyard this weekend and grab this console I remember seeing and fix this problem.

Makes since, I just thought it was odd that our 98,99, & 2000 all had this light out while all the 01+ owners on here had them working. I guess these just tend to burn out quickly? cheap fix

To answer your question partially.
Yes, the prnd buttons are also supposed to be backlit. I had the samebulb out as well. If youre upgrading to leds by any chance? As i did its a #74 led bulb. Takes me about 2 minute's to get to that bulb in gear shifter.
Now my entire interior (minus doors,cc, cluster is white) ashtray and ignition keylight also is same size bulb BTW.

ECT switch light
There is a small bulb in there under the switch. It will cost abut $8 from Lexus and it comes with the green cap. I just recently replaced mine. If you have an extra(black base) from your dash, it will also work but will be brighter since it is a slightly higher wattage.
