Trunk Emblem Stolen
My friend has a 99 GS400. His trunk emblem "Lexus, GS and 400" emblem was stolen after parking his car at the airport for 5 days. The emlems were gold plated. He went to the dealer and ordered the emblems and the dealer said that they will ship it to him because it was a special order. Six days later he receives it, but the emblem is for a "GS 430" as opposed to a "GS 400" He calls the dealer (about 130 miles from his house) and they said to send it back and they'll ship him the correct one. So he decides that it's not the worth the hassle and sticks the GS 430 emblem on his 99 GS car.
Would you do it? It does seem tacky because he still has the 99 tail lights though, but I feel for him since the dealership is so far away.

Considering he has no other "right" option, what about just leaving the GS de-badged (i.e. no 'LEXUS' and 'GS 430' emblems on the car)? At least the GS will still be presentable in some fashion

sorry i voted yes thinking the question was "does it seem tacky?" so incase u guys wondor who the hell voted yes!! it was me by mistake
anyway, if he has the 98 tails than 2 any knowing guy driveing by he'll b laughed at, i would, soory it that seems mean but it doesn't make sense 2 me 2 do it..

Here's the proof. If they got a '98-'00 GS with '01+ taillights....AND....they kept their original "400" emblem...that's tells you they upgraded for the style....like Rominl...who I believe still got the "400" on his ride.
But if they removed or pasted the "430" emblem on there....then you have to wonder. Yah yah yah....u gonna have ppl say....the trunk looks better without emblems.....whatever...to each their own....right?
The truth is that there's another reason why it was removed.....99% = looks good, 1% = looks like a 01+ GS. Percentages may vary.
