Well i voted nay, i'm not too much of a fan of chrome.
Rominl- You know i think your car is badass with or without that trim piece, but i like it as is. Your going to have to find a new hobby since you already have every possible mod for the GS,hehe.

Mine's in the mail and I'm comptemplating the same thing. The chrome will look great with that blue and badging. Go for it! Try taking a pic from a distance so it's not so in your face.

believe me i have debated that item many times and u know i love chrome but i also think its too much chrome 4 the rear of our color and even tho i have chrome wheels i still thouht it was too much 4 me, so i vote nay 2 the chrome.....OMG i just nay on chrome!?!? ...............this is just my honest opinion...good luck.
as far as u'r original question , i say take it 2 the next level....this car won't ever get old looking even when the new gs comes out this one will b modern looking, so i say depending on what u want 4 the car take it 2 the next level..
