GS and the Snow....Yes or No
Hey fellow CLers:
I'm going snowboarding this weekend and was wondering how the GS performs in the snow, be it rear wheel drive and all. I'm planning on bringing cables with me...in the event I may need them.
My question is, Is a rear wheel drive car much more challenging to drive in the snow? even with chains on?
I appreciate any feedback.
Thanks.

If you can find another car to use---Use it! My GS with OEM 17's is a very poor performer in the snow. If you have the 16's and use chains you should be OK, but I would take a different car if possible...

chains should really help. make sure u press the "snow" ect switch. that will slow ur wheelspin down. i used blizzak winter tires, and that improves it...but does not make it a 4x4

I switched out the OEM tires for Blizzak LM-22's a month ago....and it carved through the snow like a snowboard....plus I had gotten narrower snow tires, so it concentrated the more weight on the contact patches...for more grip while being able to cut through the white stuff
