Default homemade rca's in the works!!!!

I cut up some old ball joints i had laying around and decided to make some rca's!!! They need some cleaning up still but so far so good. I was following a old thread on the 2nd gen thread about making some so i gave it a go. Seems like its gonna work. They need paint and touching up but, so far so good.

I would be scared to drive my car on the street without more surface area to spread the load.
I realize there are dowel pin/sleeves to help locate the bolts... But I would even run the Megan's

no offense meant by this at all, they look good.

The surface area is fine. The issue is that they are not all the same thickness, and must be. You will need to get a second set of ball joints to hack up. Each end of the ball joint is a different thickness.

For the surface area comparison, here are the ones figs sells, and I have heard of no issues from people running them.

thanks for the help. They needed some cleaning up as stated in original post. I've been riding on these for well over 2 months zero issues. I also used 12.9 grade bolts from fastenal with hardened washers. I've got well over 1000 miles on these tire wear is alot less thanks to these. Those figs ones look good aswell. I'll keep u guys updated on any issues I have with these in the future.

I seriously love the ingenuity. Great way to think outside the box man. For those who don't have the $200+ for the big name RCA's this hits the spot, while doing the same thing. Just find out how to get them to the same thickness and your in business.

I already machined my RCA's a looong time ago, but if I knew of this many years ago I definitely would have tried it.

Mad props for the idea.
