Welcome! I had the same problem 2jzkin, and sourced mine off of "Supraforums" which is another large site dedicated to the 2jz motor. You could also try ebay or the Wanted section of either the SC300 or 1st gen GS300 forums!

Lightbulb Jersey Intro.. '93 GS300

Hello to you all.. My '93 GS300:

178K on the odometer
Bone stock for now..
Pearl White/Sliver over Tan/Brown
Could not tell you what stereo is in it since I don't have any of the owners manuals.

Runs and drives amazing and tackling the maintenance as we speak..

Question: Does anyone know the proper amount of transmission fluid I would need when doing the pan and filter as a kit? Parts store keep saying 2qts. I have read somewhere on here 8.5qts..

Thanks.

Hey welcome to the club. You should post some pics of the car. I would say you will need about 4 qts since you are dropping the pan.

Thanks.. I picked up the initial 2 quarts with the filter kit and I will pick up the other 2 Quarts. Every dept including the local dealer states 2-2.5 quarts but are never exact. Do you guys recommend Lucas Synthetic transmission fluid with anti-leak additives? I have heard good things about it but have never used the transmission fluid. I have used the oil stabilizer in my older HP builds with miles.

Oh and to mention this is my first "Rising Sun" buy and I'll add another in the future but all my other cars are German.. I love the german marque and would have not defected if it were not for the Aristo and the 2JZ power plant.

My '93.. which was repainted for no apparent reason and badly.

I would stay away from the Lucas ATF I have seen it do some crazy things in cars. I would personally stick with Toyota Dextron III ATF or Royal Purple ATF.

I used the Toyota red FIPG when I re-sealed my trans pan.

Default 1994 Lexus GS 300

Hi I picked up my first Lexus as a get to work car it is Dark green in color with beige interior leather has the Nak. stereo system 12 disc cd changer in trunk moon roof. the issues I noticed after owning a few months the transmission started shifting hard putting into gear and when on the road had not repaired yet undecided if going to fix or replace with another transmission the arm rest did not have a cup holder missing moon roof opens really slow, going to need paint soon starting to fade bad in certain areas. So far still gets me to work and back

Hey welcome to the club!! I had some of the same transmission shifting issues you have when I first bought my GS. I replaced my transmission with a used unit but later figured out I could have probably fixed my issues with a set of new shift solenoids. Either way you choose to fix yours I would recommend using Toyota or Royal Purple ATF and also get an external trans cooler. You may also want to look into new motor mounts since may be in bad shape with all of the harsh shift. Hope that helps out!!

I currently own a 1992 Miata. Looking to sell it and obtain a GS300 in black color.

Trying to learn alot more about them to see the pro's vs con's and so on.

Well, my mother had a ES300 if that says anything, haha.

Go VIP!
