Sorry Guys, been away from the net lately....

'93 GS3, 83k pampered mi., 25% tint all 'round, K&N, Sony 10 disc CD.

17" rims/ tires very soon w. eibach springs. Just too much tread left to dump the existing tires.

1st gen G3's kick booty!

Hey Todd, thanks for the heads up! I'll make sure to cover those things with the body shop. Where could I get the foglights from? Let me know where you got yours from. thanks

Default 1st Gen. Lexus GS

Mine is 1994 GS300 - Silver Metallic
I've had since 1996, now it has about 132K on it.
The only mod I've got is 18' Giovanna Barlettas with Pirellis P-zero. It's not really a mod, just makes the car look better.
It's nice to see the first generation come together.
Keep it Lexus, baby.

Default 94 GS300

Hi just bougt my 94GS300 a month ago. It's only got 67k miles. I've put in a fancy milano wheels, size 18, with 225/40 tires.

I'm just curious, since you've own the same car since 96, on what kind of maintenance cost did you endure over 5+ years.

Did you have a lot of repair done and have you always used the 91 super unleaded gas? What would you say the average maintenance cost you've incurred every year over five years.
Any major work done?

I just got my car, and I'm loving it. I guess I'm just trying to
get an idea on the track record of 1st gen GS 300, particularly 1994 made.

Thanks.

hey my parents just bought me a 2k sc400 and ihave a lot of money racked up in my bank account (grandfather)... My SC is mainly for show, not so much for speed, even though i have a few mods on it...

I have enough money to buy a 1996 GS300 from a family friend (gold with gs400 rims on it)... i was wondering if its a good idea to buy the GS300 and do a lot of work on it for performance... and if i bought it, what could i get the power up to by spending under 10gs? or would it be worth it to just buy a 99 GS400 and put rims and a system in it?

PS..
what are the performance figures for the 96 gs?

thanks

What's up everyone?
Hey, jhuzzee,
as far as maintenance costs go, don't worry about it at all. You've got a wonderful car that's not going to give you any trouble at all. I've tuned it up twice and changed my brakes seven times, other than that I did not have to pay for anything. Like I said before, and I think most of the guys/gals on here will agree with me, Lexus is a troublefree and a worryfree car.
As for gasoline, I always use 93, sometimes higher.
I would say I spent around $1500-$1900 on the car a year. But you have to keep in mind that I drive rough. So my breaks need to be changed more often, my oil, air filter, fuel filter, and transmission fluid. If you drive like a normal human being I don't think you would spend that much.
Enjoy the car and welcome to the Lexus family.
Regards.

i agree. the first generation is great trouble free car. there is some minor things about it if you are really picky that you can fix. for example. the oil filled shocks for the front hood and the rear trunk door will need to be replaced because they probly won't hold the trunk or the hood up anymore because they are old.

that is the only problem i can even think of right now. its a great car don't worry. i give it a 9/10. i just wish the dam car was shorter. it looks a bit to long. lol

Default 1st. Gen. GS

Jmai22,
What are you talking about, bro? Too long?
No, that's what I love about it vs new GS's.
The length makes it look so, I don't know, I
guess I can use the word "classy". You get in
and you know you're pushing a big Lex. I guess
I just like big cars. I could've bought an LS, but
I like the GS's design better.
You are right about the oil filled shocks for the hood.
Regards.

i'm interested in the front and rear strut bars.....i just recently bought Vol. 69 of Hyper Rev Mag and saw that Abflug and I.MEC make the front strut tower bars for my car, and Night Pager makes the rear bar. Arc and Sustec make stabilizer bars and Night Pager makes a member brace. I'd like to get these parts but i have no clue on how to go about it......let me know if you can help manaray.

thanks

2Lexos...sorry for the delay getting back to you...I got my fogs through Veilside USA. You can get the number from www.veilside.com and ask for Ray Fong.

Manaray...you are the shiznit if can find that! My body roll drives me insane when I brake hard or corner at speed.
