Default Check Engine Light plus Traction Light

I have a 95 GS300 Touring and every once in a while the check engine light and "traction off" light will come on and stay on together for about a day and then go off. Since this car isnt OBDII I cant just plug in my scan tool to see what it is and I dont really want to take it to the dealer. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? thanks

This page shows you where ports TE1 and E1 are located and provides a list of the trouble codes and definitions: http://www.troublecodes.net/Lexus/ Code 71 (EGR malfunction) is very common with these cars and could be the EGR valve or vacuum modulator. I don't know whether it's common for that code to throw the TRAC light too because I don't have traction control. Good luck!
