I like the look of the bluer light (8k?) but I've heard they have reduced visibility compared to 6k ones?

edit - just read the link Tramix posted... Has anyone compared 6k to 8k side by side? I'd still expect that 8k would be far better than the standard lights?

8K look purple far away, change to blue and then BOOM, its white, while the 6K looks blue and then white. We compared HIDs at the shop (my friends MKIV had the 6K kit) and mine are brighter and look whiter up close. Visibility is about the same with the 8K having a bit more of an advantage because it is brighter on the sides.

Lightbulb

i got mine from dentsetsu motorsports. They go for $300. The brand is Halo. A lot of MKIV guys use this kit here in Tucson and in Phoenix. I am happy with mine. Also, another popular brand is the Philliphs, but it retails at about $475-480 or $425-435 if u have conections.
Sample pics of the Halo HID kit:

Thanks guys. For some reason I didnt get an email notification that there were replies.
I'm leaning twards the 4300's just because I want the brightness. I dont care for the blue tint that much. I was more concerened if there was a sharp cut off line like on the new cars. I like that look alot.

EG8: That's what u get on the 8K and 6K HIDs.

Nakedterro: I have JDM headlights (like yours) and all I did was use a 9005 ballast for the low light beam; in other words, when I ordered my HID kit, I ordered a 9005 bulb kit. =,D

Thanks.
