Default Problem with stereo install

I finally had my CD player installed, using the factory amp. The problem is that only the sub and the rear speakers work. The tech said that he would probably have to rewire and replace my front speakers. Oh, and they were working before the install. Any one have any similar problems or possible solutions?

ONly that it doesnt make a whole lot of sense, if he could get the rear ones working he should be able to make the fronts work.

I've run asystem wtih an add on sub and we had both the front and rears working, in fact we didnt even have to touch the door speakers. We just spliced the subwoofer amp into the rear speaker level outputs.

I would make him explain why he needs to rewire and sell you new speakers.

So you had an aftermarket sub? Anyone able to use the factory sub with aftermarket cd player? Also how many amps are there? I thought there was only one, but was told there may be 2-3 or maybe the speakers have built in amps...?

Just print this out and bring it to your shop and tell them they should have asked for it the first time if they didn't know what they were doing.

Thanks. I'll double check with them. The tech said he would research it some more this weekend also...
