Problems with heated seats?
My 93 GS is in great condition and has been runnig well, but now that it is winter I notice that my heated seats are so-so at best. They may heat up at first for a few seconds then quit, they may not heat up at first but then get warm by time I get to my destination, they may stay warm for the entire time I am in my car, and they may never heat up. Is this a common problem, is it easily fixed, and is it costly to fix? Help!
Yes. it's becoming more common, especially since it winter time. You probably have a loose or broken wire for on of the heaters. Unfortunately it's going to be expensive to fix, unless you do it yourself. If you feel confident enough to remove the seat skins yourself, then it's your lucky day. Leatherseats.com is doing a group buy, you can order new seat skins with heater and a massager installed for $149 extra. The new seat skins are about $550 to $600 . Howevere you have to install the seat skins yourself or pay a shop to do it for you. I'd guess you're looking at around that much to pay someone to remove the skins and repace or fix the heaters and reinstall them.
