Last Friday my gf and I traded cars for the day. There was a heavy storm here in Cali and she lost control of my car on the freeway. The car spun out, did a 360 and hit the center divider. Luckily, neither she or anyone else was injured. Here are the results....

though the crash looks bad, my gf was not hurt AT ALL (she was goin about 50) She said she if this had happened in her car theres no telling how bad she might have been hurt. From what I can tell from the crumple zones the car absorbed the crash quite well. Now, I have to deal with insurance and getting a new car....

 

Sorry to hear your bad news. From looking at the pics, looks like she hit the center divider pretty hard. Glad she's OK.!

 

Wow, that was a pretty big hit. I'm glad to hear that your girl didn't get injured. It's sad to say this, but I'm afraid your car is totalled It's sad to see such a classy car be put out of commission when it still had a lot of life left in it.

Be careful out there in the rain you guys, it's pretty hairy on the streets here in SoCal.

I was looking closely at your tires to see if they had low tread that would cause her to hydroplane, but they seem to have pretty good tread on it. It must have been pouring extremely heavily when she was on the freeway.

 

It's good to hear she wasn't hurt. The main reason why I never let anyone drive any of my cars, especially the GF, even though she wants to sooooooooooooooo bad. Not gonna happen here

But then you have to ask yourself was she distracted by the unfamiliarity with the car? If she was driving her own car it might have never happened, who knows??
I see your point though, if you're going to be in an accident I'd rather it be in a volvo or a Lexus
