Default indiglo gauges...

Hey guys i came across these on ebay GAUGES They are indiglo gauges for our car but they only light up the markings instead of the whole thing. I think it looks cool and for the price is alot more affordable to me than olt's mod which i'm sure is nice but just too much for me. What do you guys think?

Exclamation

I would go with the lights from OLT, but make sure that your get an accurate ETA..(estiamted-time of -arrival) the indiglo gauges belong in a honda, IMO..

bah its only rice if its the whole gauge is indiglo. What makes OLT's better? looks the same and cost 4 times less? These look like the volkswagen gauges and if you've ever seen them i like them.

yeah, i think i did. i usually fill up all the way then run it down to the light and i get about that much sometimes a bit more around 350 or so. but i don't remember if this was before or after the super high gas prices, i haven't filled up a full tank since. i usually pump around 30 bucks at 2.20-250 a gallon so i get about a 3/4 of a tank.

on a hwy trip, even with my GTE shortblock running 8.5:1 compression I average about 325-340 on a tank. Been keeping track and I get about 20 to as high as 23mpg on hwy trips. Change your fuel filer man..plugs too!

Hey Jmai22,

When you say "I had mine done" do you mean someone else did it for you ? If not , how was it ? (easy/hard)

Did you use the same ones that are on Ebay ?

thanks

there is a guy here on the forums OLT he has a website and he converts your cluster to led. You have to take it off and send it to him to get it done.

yes thats correct. i didn't do it. but honesly, i opened mine up and it looks pretty simple. i could probly do it myself if i had the time to do it. basically all it is is an LED with a small (i think its called a capaciter, its really small) inline with the LED to convert the LED into the right voltage of the OEM bulbs. and the needles are the hard part. i'm not too sure how he did the needles. I have SC needles because SC needles are clear and you can make them any color you like. but the original GS needles are red so you can't change the color of them.

oh yeah, i'm pretty sure i'm still on the original fuel filter, i never changed it for the past 3 years i've had the car, maybe the previous owner did, who knows. but anyways if i went all highway i have gotten around 400 or so miles to the tank. but regular city driving i get around 16-18 mpg.

thanks Jmai,

That explains your cool color of the needles - I was wondering how you got them to be blue. I guess I get to do 'fun' stuff like that after I'm finished with my 'critical' list of things to do:

trunk leak (think I found the fix-rubber seal)
trunk&hood strut replacement (ouch)
valve cover gaskets and distributer o-ring replacement
inner differential seal leaking (I'll probably have someone do this)

we've had the car just about a little over a week and I've only been able to change the oil/filter and I did pop in some Silverstars for the low beam - they made a big difference !

Overall I'm really very pleased with our GS - it's got a really nice interior/climate control and rides very smoothly.
