Thanks for the heads-up, but I personally don't think you can do any better
than the OE Lexus/Toyota filters. I don't mind paying a few extra $ for the
peace of mind. Even with regular DINO oil, these cars only need the oil
changed every 5,000 miles or so.

is it that much of a big deal to pay $6 for the filter that was intended for use on your car?
i personally don't use aftermarket filters anymore, if you look at the holes on the top they don't line up the same way as the OE filter, which i feel could cause flow/pressure problems or leaks.

These are great filters...many studies to back it up.
I am all about OEM...however, Toyota filters are produced in Thailand and not in Japan anymore. These are not as good as the old 90915-20004's.
This can be debated all day...just like your preference of oil. Bottom line is to do what you think is best.

Nice, I just ordered 6 to qualitfy for free shipping
I usually just run down the street and pick up a SuperTech filter from walmart. Supertech filters are made by champion labs, same manufacturer as Mobil1.
Also, I buy the PL20195 filter. It's the same thread and base diameter as the GS300 filter housing. Only difference is that the filter itself is about 1.5" taller to provide more filtration area for less restriction.

They're all made by another manufacturer. Toyota doesn't have a facility where they make filters in-house. Usually these maintenance parts are supplied by someone else. Likewise, Denso supplies the filter for Toyota, which is not surprising since Toyota owns a high stake in them. Good bye made in Japan. Hello made in Thailand. Denso shifted filter production to cut down on labor.
