Great deal, thanks! Just used the code for next month on a full size car and it works...instead of having to pay $185, I'm going to pay $64. I checked on travelocity and and next cheapest rental with another company would have been double at $128.

I tried the free gas code but it didn't work...oh well.

I would be very wary of this. I have a close friend who is a regional manager and he told me that they have had a lot of corporate emails concerning people using this - and trying to get by using a kiosk so they don't have to show the family ID card...

Just an FYI for those people who are relying on this cheap price...

i guess you can always argue the fact that thats the price you were quoted and the reservations do say the rate is guarenteed. regardless the coupon code was made public and if hertz did not want to honor this discount they should change the coupon code.

I just got screwed over for this. I rented a week long Full size SUV at like $280 including tax with that coupon. Upon arriving at JFK, the guy at the counter specifically asked for a COPY of the ID showing who the family member was working at Hertz. We said we forgot it and they ended up bumping our price from $280 to $600! Damn, wish I had read it more carefully.

you can't "Pre Pay" for the rental online. you HAVE to pay at the counter.

Just online check in for Aug 29 - Sept 1 (labor day weekend) for a full size car for only $75.66. What a steal! Save me atleast $100.00. So I checked in online already with a bar code. I believe Fort Lauderdale (FLL) has that kiosk check in so cross my fingers everything should be OK.
