Need help with local Florida scammer
Hello guys,
I'm from the Northern California Lexus forum, but am part of a Celica forum as well.
Recently, we've discovered that someone who was posing as a member in our Celica forum selling HID and body kits scammed alot of people.
We've seen what dedicated members on an online community can do, so I'm asking for anyone's help in helping bring justice to my fellow members on 6GC.net (the Celica forum).
Here's the rundown of what happened, projectinprogress (real name is James) built his reputation by selling some parts to a few members. Once his "cred" was established, he began selling more expensive and rare parts but would frequently have very delayed shipping problems, shipment of wrong items, or no shipment at all. His excuses would range from the insanely improbable to the pathetically despicable.
The last straw came when he used his alias of his "wife" to claim that he had been in a life-threatening car accident. The ruse was quickly uncovered and now we are beginning the search to hunt down this low-life and bring him in to the proper authorities.
So I hope any of you can help us out since you guys may be in the area and know some numbers of the local police, etc.
