Console squeaks on a brand new car, tire rubs the wheel well, convertible roof catches a rear panel EVERY TIME it opens with a loud "snap"! Talk about **** build quality.

And i have found that there were 3 different generations of it with three different part numbers. First generation for 17-18 year, second generation for 18-20 year, and third for 20+ year. Also i don't know why, but third (last generation) cheaper about 120$ per strut. Main question, are they interchangeable? For example i want to buy shocks from last 20+ model year generation for my 2019 model year car. I have seen that RSR active i coilovers has one part number for all LC500 model years (only cabrio has different part number), so i think, that i can change struts with no problem. I don't want to go overboard so I'd love to hear everyone's perspective. I am thinking that I definitely want do the doors, dash, and footwell but undecided on the console area. My LC is a 24 with the non-flowing dash obviously so I'd love to see pictures of everyone's end result.
  • Should I do the console?
  • If you were to do it again, what would you do differently, etc.?
  • Any strong do's or don'ts?
  • Any after-installation issues regarding the installer pulling apart the interior panels for installation?

Big levers for me: appearance/beauty, a sense of occasion when driven, some practicality, can be a daily, and quality/reliability. The Emira is not very practical at all (can't really put a good-sized roll-aboard ANYwhere) and in terms of quality and reliability, is a typical British POS. However, it is truly drop dead gorgeous--especially in certain color combos; appearance/beauty is worth a good 50-70% of the value to me. The LC is beautiful in some angles, but there are a few angles and design language aspects I'm not in love with.

The Emira is a true driver's car. FWIW I actually wouldn't consider the manual; the AMG I4 is much better as a daily and in reality, a full second faster 0-60 with some metered tests yielding 3.6, even 3.5. Not super fast, but anyone who's driven one knows what I'm talking about. The handling and steering on a Lotus are superb. Typical British car: stunningly beautiful but unreliable.

I may have to take the car in to service but I don't want to if I don't need to.
I purchased OEM illuminated door sills, and after installation I’m having trouble getting the passenger side lights working. Driver side has no issues. It should be plug and play from what i've read..

Just to check if the passenger side part wasn’t defective, I plugged the passenger side part into the driver side port and it works fine so I know it’s not the part with the issue. I also noticed the puddle light, and ambient lighting on the passenger door not working after installation. So I think its a wiring issue. I've already checked the fuse box and dome lights and they all work and no blown fuses.

I just don't know where to start and theres so many layers to this problem. Any ideas? See pics below. Thanks for any help.
