weld? zip ties? press? the grease comes out and i never seen anything alike. is that part interchangeable ill just take it apart and fit a new piece on it instead replacing a completely healthy axle.

I have a 2010 IS 250 and stepping on the brake pedal no longer activates the shift lock. Every time I get in the car I have to use the "manual" shift lock release to move the shifter to drive. I believe the replacement part is 85903-30080.
Has anyone preformed this replacement? I have searched for videos with no luck.
Anyone have that issue? Is it common? When do you hear the clunk? What did you replace the spring with? an "all in one replacement (spring/strut)" or did you go OEM?

The front bumper cover on my "New to me" 2010 IS250C is damaged. Since I have to replace it anyways, I thought about updating the front end.

Anyone use a kit they like? I see several sellers on ebay, but I have a sneaky suspicion the kits all come out of the same factory in China. Would you recommend getting the lights from the same company that sells me the kit, or buy them separate?

Since I am stuck with the OEM Rear tail lights, what is YOUR opinion about going from a 2IS to a 4IS front bumper? Would I be better going to a 3IS front bumper so the change wouldn't be as drastic and the light differences won't be as noticeable?

Have a 2012 F-Sport is350, 105k, up to date in fluid maintenances, just did a fresh oil change and spark plugs a few months before that. Car was running fine and then out of nowhere a TRAC OFF in combination with the CEL.

It put the vehicle in somewhat of a limp mode, I could not punch the vehicle and would hesitate in the low roms, still maintaining a good idle. I was freaking out what is going on, did I break a sensor with the car jack, pulled some cable or plug I did not notice etc. It could be this, it could be that, what if and so on.

The next day woke up early as I could barely sleep. Hooked the cheap generic OBD w the app OBD Mary. Diagnostics gave a P0170, P0172 and P0175.

I read that it could be the gas cap, which I did put a octane booster the same day of the oil change. Did notice the cap was somewhat not fully secured. Followed by clearing the codes, ignition off, on, no codes in the cluster panel, pressed the Trac-Off and it went away. Took the vehicle for a test drive and ran normal, power is back, no misfires, or hold up of the transmission. I am not sure if it was the gas cap, but if it was what a way to let you know I forgot to tighten it all the way.

Hi everyone. I recently purchased an 08 Lexus is250 for a really good price with 150k miles. It was serviced for the majority of its life at a Lexus service center with proof of maintenance however the car was not driven for over a year. I purchased the car to serve as a daily driver and have always liked the way it looked, so I do anticipate to add my touch to it considering how outdated it is.

I’ve done all the fluid flushes, tires, and alignment already. I plan to purchase 6 NGK 6858 spark plugs this weekend since rock auto is selling them for a good price and I’ve ran the brand on previous cars. I did see the is350 tutorial thread so it doesn’t look too bad of a job. Do you recommend me to use those or are the DENSO’s more reliable? I don’t plan to tune or make any performance mods to the car, I just need a reliable daily.

Additionally, if you could recommend me a screen replacement that includes Apple CarPlay…I possibly have the oldest interface with the CD and AUX feature without a screen/navigation. Ideally would like a screen that can fit and replace what I have and I’m not interested in the “Tesla screens”.

Any tips for a new owner would be greatly appreciated, looking forward to the build 👍🏼

got a p2009 code after a small pull to get on highway , I pull over check the engine and hear a weird quacking noise coming from near the MAF sensor, I check all hoses and notice no leaks , I then go to a auto part store to get it scanned found out it was p2009 and popped the hood after driving like maybe 60mph and noticed the actuator was moving up and down and making a click noise.

I reset the code drive normally and the code doesn’t pop up til I drive the throttle hard , I drive to work code doesn’t pop up even when I get back home I still checked it , nothing noticeable until I realize that if I hold a gear I can feel the car not fully committed, the rpms stutter almost. The actuator isn’t moving up and down anymore but it feels tense not loose , and I replaced the the purge valve thinking it would help but the code still pops up .

I’m not sure where to move on from here , I’m almost certain it’s not carbon build up

Hi everyone, first time poster, long time lurker, apologies if this post is in the wrong thread, please direct me to the correct one if it is!
My IS250 2008 RWD, 82k miles, is stuttering when reaching operational temp and turning on the A/C, this happens only when in Drive, at Neutral and Parking the RPMs are stable.
I've read about compressor issues causing this, but can the compressor still be the root cause if the A/C is still working fine?
Also, why does it only happens while driving?
The voltage seems fine too, about 13.4-13.7

I am new to all this and have decided to take on installing a Blind Spot Monitor on the 2011 IS350 Convertible but can not tap into the reverse light wire because the trunk has a double hinge and will tangle and rip out a trunk wire. So I am trying to find an internal wire and am on day three of looking. Does anyone know the best place to tap in and what colour wire that would be for the convertible? Ideas have included the ECM but even that is under the hood and quite difficult. I have tried under the door sill but a bundle of about 80 wires makes that hard and, again, I do not know the correct colour. My best bet might be the bundle running into the trunk but all the roof gears makes access very tough there too, and again, wire colour unknown. Can anyone help? I even thought I might use the stereo head as it communicates with the backup camera so must understand reverse. Again,, what wire? All frustrating as the convertible is sitting in May with the bumper off waiting for answers. We only get four months of top down weather here in Toronto. no lol.

I have a pair of aftermarket lights and both of the high beams went out simultaneously and I'm investigating. The rest of the headlight functions work.
I checked the 2 fuses associated with headlights and both of them are good. I also checked the headlight plug and confirmed that it sends out 11.6V.

I want to check and see if the relays are good now. When I flip the high beam switch on, I hear the flip sound.
I'm assuming that the low beam and high beam have separate relays for each.

Where are the relays? The only info I get to find is fuses.

Only the driver-side wiper is working because the linkage lever for the passenger-side dropped off. The shorter passenger-side lever has a ball that seemingly should snap into the socket on the longer lever from the driver-side, but I couldn't get it to snap together using pliers. In the pic below I've semi-attached them by hand, but they're not actually fixed solidly together, and drop apart the moment I turn the wipers on.

Are the two levers supposed to snap together, just requiring more force? Or am I missing something?
