Forgot I had a local MB dealer down the way from my house so stopped by to check out the EQS SUV...smaller then I expected, but great interior. The salesman mentioned great deals on them, yet wouldn't tell me what they were! 🤦 I don't miss going to dealerships at all...

I'm guessing this belongs in the EV wars thread. The title says it all

Brands Not Offering Enough EVs Will Lose: Consumer Reports Study

Automakers that continue to focus on gas-powered vehicles are going to struggle to find buyers in the future

From consumer reports:

"This rising tide of demand is projected to be met by lagging supply leaving many consumers who want a BEV to choose between settling for a gasoline vehicle they don’t want, joining an ever-expanding waitlist, or just waiting it out and holding onto their existing vehicle for longer."

i have read multiple people getting 600-800 on the EQS sedan, i think 2 cases as long as 500 but i guess they were lucky. the SUV is more, around 900-1000. suv price is about the same as sedan so my guess is the suv version sells a little easier.

my local dealership has over 100 eqs in inventory and that's just ONE dealership. looks like mb is in dear trouble getting rid of the car.

i don't know how long you keep your cars but at around 1000 a month, i think the eqs is a very attractive alternative compared to the model y performance. my guess is with model y you probably lose 30-35k in 3 years, that would be about the same as what you would pay on an eqs

I agree with that if you are looking for more luxury, and better ride quality. My personal choice would still be the Y because I travel a lot to SoCal, and the Tesla charging infrastructure is infinitely better when travelling

Please name 1 EV model from any automaker other than Tesla that has sold well in the US. Articles like this are pure propaganda.

There has not been 1 EV model that has outsold comparable ICE model in any category.

BTW manufacturers continue to offer HUGE incentives to move the EV models that they do have.

My dealer is throwing $$$$$ at me as they can’t move any EQ models. Ppl can’t get enough of GLE, Sclass and Gwagon though lol.

I much rather have EQS than any Tesla - inside its great and I enjoyed driving it. The styling is the weak point.

Hyundai Ioniq 5. Kia EV6. Polestar 2. Mustang Mach-E. Chevy Bolt EUV. Selling faster than they can produce them. Sales growth YoY. California, the largest car market in the US, 18 percent registered vehicles are EV'S in less than 3 years. Sorry bud, ICE is loosing, accept it or not. I truly feel for you though...

Ionic 5 and Kia Ev6 are not $50k cars.
I sat in both of them at NY autoshow and they are well overpriced imo. I do like the exterior styling on both especially Ionic 5. Neither one outsells a comparable Civic, RAV4 etc.

Chevy Bolt? I thought it was discontinued…
Mach E was doing ok but then production delays and recalls slowed momentum, I don’t think it’s selling that great. The interior is absolute garbage on this car btw. Also a good chunk are fleet sales to police departments and other govt entities. What ICE suv does it outsell btw?!

California is a unique market and Tesla is #1 car there i think but rest of US has not bought into EVs.

I will be ok don’t worry - my existing ICE cars and some that are on order will be more than enough to entertain me for the foreseeable future.

Where California goes, all the automakers go. That's how big the auto market is here. Bigger than Florida and Texas combined. I don't want to explain all this, it's been done already multiple times. Just do your own research, Google is your friend here.

You can believe whatever you want, I can't change that. Hopefully you won't be in shock when reality hits

California is a unique market, the state predicts where the global automotive market is headed. Tesla started out in California, that might be a small clue.

Ppl and companies are moving out of Cali including Tesla. Lately it’s setting all the wrong trends. I do believe that ICE cars will be banned their first.

The shift to EVs is not being done naturally but with government intervention through incentives both for the consumers and the car manufacturers.

Neither was the smart phone market where I couldn't believe my beloved blackberry was going away. But I soon realized smartphones are better. I personally don't believe in banning ICE, but I can't do anything about that and wouldn't buy another one anyway even if they didn't. I would pay double, triple for an EV if I had to because in my view personally they are superior, IMHO of course.

That's your opinion as I guarantee most people will love them once they start driving them. Again, just my opinion.

People have been discussing the downfall of California since I was kid. We're still here and thriving

not a concern for me because i am simply not ready to take my EV on any long trips at this point. that's what my ICE is for. EV is only for around town or very controlled trips for us.

yup mb is losing a lot on the EQ for sure. too bad they missed the market by about 24 months. if they ramped up their EQ lineup 2 yrs ago they would have ridden the wave and milked so much out of people. i still remember 18 months ago my mb sales called me and said he was willing to talk to his manager about selling me the EQS at msrp. how things have changed
