Look, the CT does not replace a traditional ICE truck in a lot of cases, I'm with you that 99.9 percent of people don't buy it to do truck stuff. It's a status symbol, even if it can do some work done by traditional ICE trucks

It can do some of the work an F150 can do, like I said it doesn’t have a long bed option which lots of people who actually use trucks need, and you can’t easily haul ladders etc with one, it’s just not a work vehicle. It replaces your standard guy who buys a crew cab F150 with a short bed that has a tonneau cover that never gets opened he drives around like a car, sure. That’s not using one to do actual work though.

A CT is not a viable option for a truck buyer who wants to actually use the truck to do work no.

I think we can both agree, you don't buy a CT as you would a traditional work truck unless you are using it to bring attention to your business. I've seen the bed up close, and I know what you are talking about

Tesla truck reminds me of a Ridgeline. Ridgeline is an Accord with a bed. My aunt daily drives one. Sure she throws stuff in the bed but it’s never seen nor will it see a trailer. Can it tow? Sure but I’m sure it’s a rare sighting. Has anyone seen a Tesla truck in the wild with a trailer attached?

When my uncle told me he bought a new truck, he drove it to my house. I looked outside and said where is it? The Ridgeline was in the driveway. :peep:

So it’s fair to say if you asked that same F350 owner could a F150 replace his F350, the answer would be yes.

If he was being honest yes.

Exactly. I have seen some of those on the road too. Wrapped up for businesses. You’re not going to see painting crews however driving around in them with ladders etc because they just aren’t functional for that use. The contractor driving around selling jobs with a VT wrapped up marketing the painting company? Sure. He could work out of a car though…

I guess that would be fair. I'm sure he wouldn't like being told that though 🤣

I doubt it. Not the same status symbol. If he has an F-350 and just drives it around like a car, he's trying to project a certain image. I've said this before, the CT is just the new H1 Hummer.

SW17LS Jan 26, 2025 08:43 PM

Agreed about the CT and the Hummer.

Finally some much needed precipitation in SoCal and snow in the local mountain. Guess which truck needed a tow?

Any Cybertrucks being deployed into fleets yet? I have seen some lightnings and barely silverados. There not towing or such but doing alot of city public work deployment.

I also see hertz sales primarily selling their fleet off of silverado evs with barely any miles accrued.
