It'll leave an F250 sitting during a race but that's about it.

Well if you don't believe me, I'll repost the Tucker Carlson segment, where the F250 owner made this statement, not me. So unless Elon paid him to pretend, I don't know what to say. As to the other stuff Steve mentioned, I don't enough about Trucks to comment, it was all Chinese he was speaking as far as my knowledge of trucks go

Here's the review. Judge for yourself

BTW, the guy has an F350, not F250, and the first question Tucker asks is, "Can the Cyber Truck replace your F350", and the guy answers "So far, Yes".

Just wanted to make that correction. And I think the guy got his birthday wish 🤣

The answer may be yes to some but for those who tow further than 90 miles it’s a different story and depends on how much patience and time you have to burn.

Range is a different discussion, IMO. For this particular person's needs, it works as good, or better than his F350. Would I buy a Cyber Truck to do the same work this guy does? Probably not because I don't want my neighbors hating on me :)

Again there is no journalism being done there. Its all just Elon boot licking. Unless I can tow a 9,000 load a reasonable distance there is no way that the CT can do the same job that an ICE truck can do. If you don't actually use your truck for work, just for what you could use a regular car for then sure its fine. A CT pulling 9k lbs isn't even getting 100 miles of range on a full charge, and you can't even charge it without unhooking the trailer.

If Elon were not a right wing darling that video would never have been made and both of them would be laughing at the CT

Range is not a different discussion when towing is one of the primary utilities of a large truck. That person does not actually need an F350, if he used an F350 for its capability the CT wouldn't come close.

I did watch the video and they're just playing "work" in the CT.

This is an F350 doing work that requires a vehicle like an F350:

The reality is for a lot of work EV trucks are just not well suited to it. At least the Rivian and the Lightning etc have more traditional beds (F150 especially) that can take load management systems, but if you buy a truck to do work, hauling and towing and that sort of thing an ICE truck is still the best choice.l

as it is snowing everywhere lol. I just can’t see a Cybertruck with a salt spreader. 50 bags of ice melter, a snow plow up at the front, tools and a crew of four. Doing it all day long with a crew change. There is no spare tire. And visit 50 sites to clear snow.

I remember I read an article about a guy here in Ontario, Toronto, who used to take boats from Toronto down to Florida for the Snowbirds.

To me you are just showing me your political bias, but that's fine. I saw what I saw and it did the job this person required of it. I don't think by any stretch it can replace ice trucks in every situation, but it can do many of the same jobs, what I saw was all the proof I need. If you can prove to me the stuff they did was faked, I'll change my tune.

Because there is no way to get the truck into a charging stall with a trailer on it, have to back in etc.

It has nothing to do with any political bias of mine it’s just a fact. I think EVs being political is absurd but they are. I have said before I think one of the goals of this political shift of Elons is to get people who traditionally politically are anti EV onboard, and this is huge evidence that it is working.

By your own admission you don’t know much about trucks and didn’t understand anything I said (your words not mine) so I don’t see how you can credibly say the CT can replace an ICE truck when it comes to doing real
work. You can drive it around and tow something a short distance and carry stuff in the bed. That’s not the real work people who actually need trucks do. Most people who buy trucks don’t need them though so for them the CT works just fine.

No, I didn't say it could replace an ICE truck. An ICE truck owner who owns an F350 said it. So yes, I don't know much about trucks, but that guy seems like he does. His words, not mine. If I'm wrong, I'm just listening to a guy who seems like he grew up with trucks

Based on what I saw in that video he does not need an F350. Lots of people buy trucks that are way more capable than they actually need. He didn’t do anything in that video he couldn’t have done with a plain Jane F150. Even the trailer. It was a 13,000 lb trailer. An F350 can tow up to 27,000 lbs. F150 with the eco boost can tow 13k lbs.

Cybertruck has no full size bed option. 2,500 lbs payload (less than even an F150 in some configurations) F350 has multiple bed length options and payload of up to 8,000 lbs. CT is just nowhere near that level of capability. You can’t even carry ladders on a CT…

I agree. A person who can replace his F350 with a tow rating of 30k+ lbs with a Tesla truck does not need a F350 to begin with.

That's probably true, the F350 is an overkill. But if the CT can do the same work as an F150 (besides being able to tow over 100 miles), it can do a lot of "truck stuff", would that be correct?

Look, the CT does not replace a traditional ICE truck in a lot of cases, I'm with you that 99.9 percent of people don't buy it to do truck stuff. It's a status symbol, even if it can do some work done by traditional ICE trucks
