Tesla Model S Plaid
but should be no question to anyone that the plaid is lightning fast.

My good friend and neighbor got their Plaid last month. I kept it for a day while he used one of my vehicles and the acceleration is truly ballistic. That being said, I will never get over the stupid yoke and the interior still is not very nice. You cannot convince me the yoke is even remotely a good idea. Said neighbor currently owns 4 Teslas (Model X for wife, two Model 3s for the twin teenagers) so clearly interiors don't matter and other periphery don't matter.
It seems the idea of comparing or even drag racing these cars becomes pointless.
With ICE engines, there was some engineering to build a high HP engine.
Now with off the shelf batteries and motors, your speed is only limited by how much you put in the car, any car. I can get a Toyota Corolla to do 2 second 0-60 too.
These speeds seem novel now, but really it comes down to basic science and battery and electric motor technology, and not so much to do with a particular car.

BTW, watching the video...the Plaid looks sloooow....lol. The Rimac is incredible.
As an aside, I'm also going down this path. Given that it's probably just reading a few books and buying a few tools, I've decided that I'm going to becoming a world-renowed brain surgeon. My first few thousand patients might not be too happy with the results, but luckily most of them won't be around to tell anyone (or they won't be able to remember anything if they are). Maybe one day you can give me a ride in your 2 second Corolla, and I'll reverse your lobotomy!
Exactly! It's easy, right?

Off the shelf carbon wrapped motors. Local AutoZone has em for sure.
I laughed out loud at this well done.

From an enthusiast standpoint I don’t care much for EVs. I like modding my cars and making them a little faster here and there, it’s part of the fun for me. I like that I have the ability to do that. With EVs the power is what it is and everyone is the same. How fun is it to have every car like yours be the exact same?
With that being said the Plaid would be a fun daily driver and I may look at ordering one later this year. The only unfortunate thing is the yoke which I don’t mind but my wife literally hates. I’m hoping she comes around.

Not sure if anyone posted doug's in depth review.
I'm getting tired of his over the top style... but the video is informative.
He loves the interior (i don't lol) but says the interior and exterior quality and paint is crap.
And of course he loves the speed.

oh he loved it. He said at the end it's the best all around car ever made.
which is interesting when he also said the styling is old and generic and the quality sucks.
he was just bowled over though by the speed and control features.
