Nice!! Did my first drive today. It was good. I still don't think it's quite a $100K car (today's prices) but at our reservation pricing $80K + available fed credit still of $7,500 will definitely be worth it. There were a handful of R1S's in the R1 Shop today as well, and was able to snag one that closely mirrored our original Rivian Blue/Ocean Coast build with ATs! Think the shop one had an added spare and the underbody protection.
Almost went to go for a Forest Green Launch Edition, but so many greens out there, and the blue definitely pops and makes me grin like a kid.
Awesome build! I was debating between the Forest Green and the Red Canyon and opted for the green as my Tesla is red and it was time for a change
Insurance quote came back -$646 a year for the R1S which is actually lower than my 3P. 250/500 bodily injury 250 property damage. I have to think there isn't enough data for them to price it appropriately yet and I'm going to enjoy it while I can

You mean a year, or 6 months, which most auto policies are? Unfortunately for me, I have my 19 year old son and 22 years old daughter on our policies... each of them doubled the liability . My 6 months premium for four cars (full) coverage is about $3k every six months 😞

No idea especially considering we just got a letter saying rates are going up significantly at the next renewal. For the record, the rate on my 3P is $380 every 6 months.
I had to switch insurance companies to lower my rates. Currently I'm with Progressive, which right now has the lowest rates I could find
I did the same when I got my GS. State Farm was asking 50% more than Allstate. Allstate has kept things pretty stable since I switched over and has only gone up marginally since they dropped my rates during COVID
We picked ours up last week!! It's not the world's perfect SUV, but it's pretty damn fun and the value with our original pricing + tax amendment refund made it a no brainer. Will get pics and first thoughts up soon!
Stopped by our Saturday morning Cars & Coffee with it.

Congrats! How is the ride quality/suspension? I'm starting to see more and more of these on the road
Looks great! I've got the same wheels How was your build quality?
Got to go for the 20"s!! Build quality is pretty solid, went over all the panel gaps and materials fairly closely. Nothing seemed out of sorts. No creaks or rattles. A few hundred miles in, just had an OTA update last night. So far so good.

It's good. Not quite as soft as our X5 (even though both have air suspensions). But decently sorted for daily needs and on the highway while still retaining a feeling of nimbleness for a massive beast.
