Rivian R1S SUV and R1T Pick-up thread
Take 5 minutes and read some of the analysis for both companies or you can just look at their available cash. It’s not going to take much for them to close up shop.
As far as economy, plenty of data out there that shows we are in economic slowdown that will probably continue into Q1 of next year.

You've been saying that about the economy literally since 2020. The economy is going to be fine. "High degree of likelihood we will see a recession sooner rather than later" is a headline we have seen for years. Thats a "no shi- sherlock" headline. Recessions are a normal part of the economic cycle. Keep predicting one long enough eventually you will be right.
I've read them.

Most Fortune 500 companies are doing layoffs or have hiring freezes.
How many mom and pop shops closed down since 2019. Same goes for big box stores with Bed Bath just recently.
The Commercial loans on all those office buildings and Strip Malls are coming due soon for refis where rates are double and occupancy is at 30-40% at best.
All the Fed has to do is print more money and get the rates down and all will be right again lol

In regards to Rivian, it will follow same trend as Lucid where $180k car with a few thousand miles sold for $110k on Cars and Bids. There is no secondary market for these cars largely because dealers don’t want them on trade.
I did a search and there are a bunch of Rivians on sale with delivery miles at a discount yet the company is claiming they have too many waiting customers….makes no sense.

When you say "a bunch of Rivian's", what do you mean? Two or two thousand?
I don’t think RIVIAN will be very successful going forward. Just looked up the delivery times in my region. Mid 2024 for the pick up that starts at $100k.

They've only just begun to sell in Canada. Waits for the R1T in the US are ~1-4 months if you have a service center nearby
These are people who bought only to flip them, some probably employees who got first dibs. They probably have a reserve set making the price too high. I wouldn't give these vultures the time of day and I suspect most people don't either.

These are all being sold by dealers who paid way less than retail - i just feel it’s strange to see so many available with delivery miles.
